Getting Started with Nectarblocks

Get started with the NectarBlocks Essentials Course — your first step to building professional, modern websites inside the WordPress block editor. In this video, Phil walks you through the interface, blocks, settings, templates, and included theme so you can hit the ground running.

Nectarblocks works directly inside the core WordPress block editor — unlike many builders that take you into a separate editor. If you’ve used WordPress before, everything will feel familiar. The canvas in the center is where you build your page, the inserter lets you add blocks, and the sidebar on the right changes depending on what you’ve selected. For site-wide options, click the Nectarblocks logo in the top bar to open Global Settings.

At the heart of Nectarblocks is a powerful collection of elements that go far beyond the basics WordPress provides. You’ll find them right at the top of the inserter, highlighted in blue so they’re easy to spot. From layout and text, to media and advanced dynamic content, you can mix and match these pieces to build your pages — all while staying inside the native WordPress editor.

Every block comes with its own settings. When you select a block, its options appear in the right-hand sidebar. For example, if you add a button, you can adjust its text, style, and colors right there. Editing text is just as easy — simply click and start typing.

One feature that really sets Nectarblocks apart is responsive editing. At the top of the editor, you’ll find a toolbar for Desktop, Tablet, Mobile, as well as states like Hover. You can switch between them to fine-tune your design for each device or state. Settings cascade downward — so what you set on Desktop carries into Tablet and Mobile unless you override it. This makes adjusting layouts across screen sizes simple and visual.

Nectarblocks also supports a wide range of animations. You can choose from preset in-view effects like fades and slides, or use the custom animation builder to create more advanced, scroll-based motion for dynamic, interactive layouts.

To keep your site consistent, Nectarblocks includes Global Settings, accessible through the logo in the top toolbar. Here you can define your brand colors and typography rules once, and those choices apply across every block that uses them. If you ever change a color or update a font later, it updates everywhere automatically. It’s a huge time-saver and keeps your design cohesive.

If you don’t want to start a page from scratch, the Template Library is the perfect shortcut — and you can access it right from the top toolbar. It gives you a wide range of pre-made sections to drop into your site. Other builders often make templates that feel disconnected from the rest of your design, but we solved that by ensuring every section instantly adapts to your global settings. You can use them as they are, or customize them as much as you like. And if you want an even faster start, we also provide full demo websites you can import to jumpstart your build.

And finally, Nectarblocks comes with an optional included theme. You don’t have to use it — Nectarblocks works with any theme — but if you do, you’ll unlock extra control. Theme settings let you customize your site’s header, footer, and overall layout in the WordPress Customizer. It’s lightweight, flexible, and built to work seamlessly with Nectarblocks.

So that’s your first look at Nectarblocks. In the next video, we’ll walk through the installation process and license activation. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you there.
