Starting with a Demo Import
Learn how to quickly import a demo site with Nectarblocks to get a ready-made starting point for your build. We’ll cover using the Demo Importer, best practices, and tips to ensure a smooth setup.
Now that you’ve installed Nectarblocks and activated your license, let’s look at how to import a demo site.
We’re heading back into the Nectarblocks panel in the WordPress dashboard, and this time, going into the Demo Importer tab. If you don’t see this option, make sure you’ve installed the importer/exporter plugin that came with your bundle.
When importing demos, we recommend using the included Nectarblocks theme. That way, your site will match the live demo exactly, since some styling depends on theme options.
It’s also best to import demos on a fresh WordPress install. This ensures that all the media files and post IDs line up correctly.
You can choose to import just the demo content, just the theme and plugin styling, or both together. The choice is yours.
Now, depending on your server setup, sometimes an import can time out. If that happens, don’t worry—just click Import again, and it will continue where it left off until you see the success notification.
Once the import finishes, your site will look just like the demo, giving you a perfect starting point to customize with Nectarblocks.
In the next video, we’ll explore the included Nectarblocks theme in more detail and show you the advantages of using it over a third-party theme.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you there.
